TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team jumped out to a five-point lead four minutes into the game but went cold and never recovered, falling to Salt Lake CC 70-51 in the Region 18 Championship Saturday.
The Golden Eagles were tied at 16 after the first quarter but the Bruins went on an 18-6 run in the second quarter and pulled away. CSI shot just 28 percent from the field for the game, while the Bruins couldn't miss, hitting 48 percent of their shots.
CSI also committed 22 turnovers and were out-rebounded 46-34 to a team they had beaten twice during the regular season.
Taylia Stimpson led the Golden Eagles with 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Petra Farkas added four points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Finley Garnett was the only other CSI player in double figure, finishing with 11 points.
Allie Thayne posted eight points and four rebounds and
Karmelah Dean had six points, three rebounds and three assists.
Both Stimpson and Farkas were named to the Region 18 All-Tournament Team. Other players selected included Shawnee Simpson of Snow College, Fatoumata Jallow of Salt Lake, Hazel Fui of Salt Lake and MVP Awa Sidibe of Salt Lake.
CSI finishes it's season with a record of 22-9 overall.
