SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho put together a great first half but couldn't hold the lead in the second, losing to Salt Lake CC 84-71 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
CSI held the Bruins to just 39 percent shooting from the field in the first half, taking a 4-point lead into the locker room. Salt Lake came out hot, knocking down 67 percent of its shots in the second half and pulling away.
Mike Hood led the Golden Eagles with 18 points. He added five rebounds and three assists.
Maurice Barnett had 15 points and
Sawyer Storms finished with 12 points. Those were the only three players in double-figure scoring but
Deng Dut posted another solid all-around effort. Dut had six points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Chayce Polynice came off the bench to score eight points.
CSI moved to 1-1 in conference play. The Golden Eagles travels to Colorado Northwestern Saturday.
