TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team beat Laramie County CC 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23 before falling to MSU West Plains 25-20, 27-25, 25-22 Saturday in the Starr Corporation Invitational.
Against Laramie County,
Payton Spoja led the Golden Eagles with 17 kills. She added seven digs.
Letarona Mose finished with 10 kills and six blocks and
Alexis Mareko had 4 kills and seven blocks.
Taylor Burnham finished with seven kills and 16 digs for CSI.
Kylie Baumert added 14 digs and
Quinn Kellogg finished with 23 assists and 12 digs.
In the Missouri State University West Plains match, CSI struggled to get anything going. MSUWP out-blocked CSI 10-5 were more efficient offensively, posting a .244 hitting percentage to .206 for the Golden Eagles.
Spoja again led the CSI charge, finishing with 13 kills and 11 digs. Burnham added 10 kills and six digs. Defensively, Kahakai led CSI with 14 digs.
Sean Garvin added 19 assists and seven digs, while Mose had five kills and four blocks.
CSI, now 6-6, travels to Treasure Valley Wednesday before heading to Las Vegas for a tournament Friday and Saturday.
