TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team had control of the first two sets but errors late led to USUE scoring runs that gave the Eagles of Price a 27-25, 27-25, 25-18 win in Scenic West Athletic Conference play Saturday.
CSI looked in control early, taking a 23-19 lead. But two hitting errors and a setting error combined with a USUE kill tied the game. The Golden Eagles didn't give up, earning a chance at set point at 25-24 but USUE put away three straight balls to take the first set.
In the second set, the two teams battled back and forth with CSI taking the 23-22 lead and the 24-23 lead, against serving for set point. But three kills by USUE and a hitting error and a reception error by CSI gave USUE the 2-0 set lead.
The Golden Eagles never recovered, falling in the third set.
Letarona Mose led CSI with nine kills. Payton Spoja added eight kills, 10 digs and two service aces. Alexis Mareko led CSI with four blocks and added five kills. Defensively, Kylie Baumert led CSI with 11 digs. Sean Garvin finished with 12 assists and nine digs.
CSI, now 10-9, travel to College of Southern Nevada Thursday and #6 Snow College on Saturday.
