HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team defeated College of Southern Nevada 25-21, 28-26, 25-19 Thursday to improve to 2-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles stayed in control most of the first set but found themselves down 24-23 in set two and facing a feisty Southern Nevada team looking to tie up the match.
Hannah Karrasch put down the kill to even it at 24. CSI took the 25-24 lead on a Coyote error but handed the point back with a hitting point of its own. Both teams traded points on a kill before a Southern Nevada service error and a kill by
Letarona Mose gave CSI the 2-0 set lead.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to an 8-4 lead in set three and never looked back.
Taylor Burnham led the CSI attack, finishing with 12 kills. She added 13 digs. Karrasch added seven kills and five blocks.
Grace Nelson finished the night with 22 assists and eight digs and
Kylie Baumert added 13 digs.
CSI travels to sixth-ranked Snow College Saturday. The Badgers defeated ninth-ranked Salt Lake CC Thursday in four sets.
