LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team avenged an early season loss en route to finishing with a 2-2 record in the College of Southern Nevada Tournament. The Golden Eagles beat Central Wyoming 25-22, 25-21, 25-10, lost to Division 2 top-ranked Parkland, beat Arizona Western 17-25, 27-25, 25-18, 26-24 and fell to Division 1 top-ranked Seward County 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.
The Golden Eagles opened the tournament against Central Wyoming, a team they lost to in five sets two weeks ago. This time CSI swept CWC led by Taylor Burnham's 15 kills. She added seven digs. Alyssa Curtis posted 10 kills with no errors and four blocks. Letarona Mose had was solid at the net, finishing with seven kills and six blocks. Quinn Kellogg had 25 assists and Kylie Baumert led the defense with 16 digs.
CSI had its hand full against Parkland. After beating Parkland in the opening set, CSI struggled to keep its momentum going, losing three straight. Baumert tied the CSI record for digs in a 4-set match with 34 digs and was one shy of the overall record. No CSI player recorded double-digit kills, but right-side hitter Alyssa Curtis finished with a team-high eight. She added four blocks. Mose again blocked well, finishing with five blocks and seven kills. Burnham also had seven kills and 12 digs. 
The Golden Eagles came out slow against Arizona Western Saturday morning, falling in the first set. But battled back, winning three straight.
Burnham and Laura Valentina each had 12 kills. Burnham added 11 digs. Curtis led the team with five blocks and added seven kills. Garvin finished with 17 assists and nine digs. Defensively, Baumert had a team-high 23 digs. Saryiah Kahakai added 17 digs and three kills. 
In its final match the weekend, CSI never got anything going. Burnham led the Eagles with seven kills and seven digs. Garvin had nine assists and eight digs, while right-side hitters Valentina and Curtis combined for 12 kills and five blocks. Baumert finished with 15 digs and Tausha Cummins had 12 assists.
CSI, 9-8 overall, has the week off.
