SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team looked like it was starting to find some consistency Friday, beating Treasure Valley 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 and then taking a 2-0 set lead against Central Wyoming in the Salt Lake CC Invitational. But The Golden Eagles struggled the rest of the way, falling eventually to CWC 18-25, 18-25, 25-21 25-17, 15-9.
Against Treasure Valley,
Taylor Burnham led the charge with 10 kills and 14 digs.
Alexis Mareko added seven kills and three blocks and
Payton Spoja had six kills with 11 digs.
Quinn Kellogg led CSI with 24 assists and added 11 digs.
Kylie Baumert tied for a match-high 14 digs.
The match against Central Wyoming, the Golden Eagles held Central Wyoming to an almost .000 hitting percentage but couldn't sustain watched their lead disappear in the match.
Burnham against led CSI with 16 kills. She added 15 digs. Spoja and Mareko each had eight kills. Spoja also posted 18 digs and Mareko had five blocks. The Golden Eagles other middle blocker
Letarona Mose finished with seven kills and four blocks. Kellogg had a double-double with 35 assists and 11 digs. Baumert led the defense with 30 digs.
Saryiah Kahakai added 12 digs and three service aces.
CSI, now 4-3 overall, takes on Western Nebraska Saturday at 9 a.m.
