TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho hit seven home runs en route to a 7-1 and 16-0 sweep of Treasure Valley CC in non-conference play Wednesday.
The Golden Eagles were out-hit in game one but had some timely hitting by
Mya Washington and
Carley Croshaw at the plate and some crucial strikeouts in the circle defensively.
Washington pounded two home runs for four RBI and Croshaw added another home run. Both Croshaw and Washington finished the game 2-for-3.
Nikki Zielinski was 1-for-2 with a triple.Â
Mailee Jensen earned the win, pitching all seven innings and giving up just one run with seven strikeouts. She forced the Chukars into 12 runners left on base.
Game two was all CSI.
Kaeley Loader hit two home runs, going 2-for-3 with 3 RBI.
Tristin Evans (2-4), Zielinski (1-3) and
Emma Wilson (2-3) all hit home runs to take the Golden Eagles season total to 74.
Hannah Peterson finished 3-for-3 with two doubles and
Kylie Baumert was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In the circle,
Hadlie Henderson was dominant. The sophomore gave up just three hits in four innings of work with no walks, no runs and one strikeout.
CSI, now 23-13 overall, hosts Southern Nevada Friday and Saturday.
