CSI Softball wins two on Friday against Southern Nevada

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team needed a walk-off grand slam to beat Southern Nevada in 11 innings 10-6 and then run ruled the Coyotes 9-1 in five innings in game two Friday.
The Golden Eagles were tied with Southern Nevada at six apiece at the end of five innings in game one. That's when pitchers Hadlie Henderson and Karen Hernan started a six inning pitchers' duel.
CSI finally had a break through in the bottom of the 11th. Due to the international tie break rule, Kylie Baumert was placed on second. Hannah Peterson was hit by pitch and Tristin Evans put down a bunt single to load the bases. That's when Kalena Shepherd drove a ball over the right center fence for the grand slam walk off.
Shepherd finished the game 2-for-4 with 4 RBI, while Anjalee Batchelor was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Kaeley Loader was 2-for-4 with one RBI and Hannah Peterson was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Henderson earned the win in the circle, going six innings and giving up no runs on three hits with one strikeout.
Game two was all CSI. Henderson earned her second win of the day, giving up just one run on two hits in three innings. Mailee Jensen threw the final two innings, giving up no runs on one hit with three strikeouts. 
Peterson was 1-for-2 with a home run and four RBI, Evans was 2-for-3 with two RBI, Mya Washington was 2-for-2 and Loader was 1-for-1. Baumert finished 1-for-2 with a walk and Carley Croshaw was 1-3 with 2 RBI.
CSI, 25-13 overall and 16-6 in conference play, hosts Southern Nevada at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
