Golden Eagles stumble on the road at Snow

EPHRAIM, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team lost to Snow 10-6 and 4-3 Friday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader.
The Golden Eagles took a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the fifth in game one but Snow rallied finishing off the bottom half with a grand slam and the 10-5 lead that CSI couldn't overcome.
And while most of the CSI bats were quiet, Hannah Peterson and Kalena Shepherd carried most of the load at the plate. Shepherd finished 4-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI and Peterson was 3-for-4 with two home runs, a triple and three RBI.
Grover earned the loss in the circle, giving up nine earned runs on 13 hits.
The Badgers kept CSI off the board until the last inning in game two. Both teams scattered hits until Snow put the first run on the board in the bottom of the fourth. The scored stayed that way until the Badgers added three in the bottom of the sixth, giving CSI one more opportunity at the plate.
Hadyn Flygare led off the seventh with a single and Sherry Boone followed with another single. After a pop out, Nikki Zielinski singled, putting the first CSI run on the board. Boone tried to take an extra base with the Golden Eagles needing three more runs and was thrown out at third. Kylie Baumert then hit a two-run home run before a strikeout ended the game.
Peterson ended the game 2-for-4 and Zielinski was 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Henderson earned the loss, going 5 innings and giving up three earned run on nine hits.
CSI, now 27-19 overall and 18-12 in conference play, takes on Snow again Saturday at noon for a doubleheader.
