PRICE, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Softball team struggled in the circle and at the plate early, falling to USU Eastern 10-2 and then bounced back with great performances at the plate and in the circle for the 12-2 five-inning run rule.
The Golden Eagles finished game two with four home runs.
Tristin Evans was 3-for-4 at the plate with a grand slam and five RBI.
Kylie Baumert was 2-for-2 with a home run, two walks and three runs scored, while
Nikki Zielinski was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
Kalena Shepherd knocked her second home run of the day in the first inning.
Mya Washington was 2-for-2 at the plate with a double.
In the circle,
Mailee Jensen earned the win. The freshman gave up just two earned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.
Although CSI struggled in game one, several players posted solid performances. Shepherd finished 2-for-3 with a home run and RBI.
Emma Wilson and
Mya Washington each went 1-for-2.
The Golden Eagles, 21-13 overall and 14-6 in conference play, hosts Treasure Valley on Tuesday and Southern Nevada on Friday and Saturday.
