Golden Eagle Baseball gets the Friday sweep at home

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team swept USU Eastern Friday 2-0 and 5-4 with solid pitching and timely hitting in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Golden Eagle hurler Boden Mills kept the Eagles of Price out of sync the whole first game. The sophomore gave up no runs on just four hits with seven strikeouts. Offensively, David Hudleson and Nolan Walker were 2-for-3 at the plate. One of Walker's hits was a RBI double. Colton Kent registered the other RBI with a single to score Andrew Astin.
CSI trailed much of game two but the Golden Eagles scored two runs in the eighth and a run in the ninth for the win.
Trailing 4-2, Jordan Scott led off the eighth with a single. Ryke Erickson moved Scott to second on a sacrifice bunt. Jackson Kohler was hit by pitch before Hudleson singled to plate Scott. Hudelson and Kohler advanced on a wild pitch and USUE intentionally walked Nolan Walker to load the bases. Hayden Leatham scored Kohler on a sacrifice fly to eighth to tie the game.
CSI rallied in the bottom of the ninth with two outs. Scott started the run again with a walk. Erickson singled and Kohler was intentionally walked to load the bases. That's when Hudleson drew the walk-off RBI walk to win the game.
Scott finished the game 2-for-3 and Kohler was 1-for-2. Hudleson had two RBI.
On the mound Jayson Hibbard earned the win, pitching the final inning and giving up no hits and no runs.
CSI, now 18-14 overall and 5-8 in conference play, hosts USU Eastern again Saturday for a doubleheader starting at noon.
