HENDERSON, Nev. - The 11th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Baseball team lost to Pima CC 8-7 and 10-8 Saturday in a non-conference doubleheader.
The Golden Eagles forced extra innings in the opener after tying the game in the seventh. But Pima countered with a run in the eighth to earn the win. In game two, CSI trailed 10-5 and scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh before the comeback came up short.
In the first game,
Matt Hansen threw two solid innings, giving up no hits with two strikeouts.
Andrew Astin was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI.
Nolan Walker was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI and
Hayden Leatham was 1-for-2 with a double and one RBI.
In game two,
Connor Breding pitched 4.1 innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
Colton Kent was 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run and four RBI.
Abe Yagi finished 2-for-4 with one RBI.
CSI, now 3-5 overall, travels back down to Henderson next weekend to take on Okanagan and Prairie Baseball Academy.
