TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team put together four quarters of stingy defense to beat #20 Salt Lake CC Thursday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles held the Bruins to 39 percent from the field and 7 percent from long range. On the flip side, CSI shot 45 percent from the field and from beyond the arc.
CSI's
Petra Farkas had the hot hand in the first half, scoring 17 points. She added six more in the second half to lead the Golden Eagles with 23 points.
Inside,
Bailey Hawkins and
Allie Thayne dominated the boards. Hawkins finished with 12 rebounds and Thayne had seven. They held the league's top rebounder to eight rebounds. Overall, CSI out-rebounded SLCC 41-33.Â
Kaela McClure and
Ka'Maree Donald controlled the game from the guard position, combining for 12 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals.
The Golden Eagles, now 17-10 overall and 5-4 in league play hosts Colorado Northwestern Saturday at 3 p.m. for their final home contest.
