MESA, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Team bounced back after falling to defending NJCAA National Champions South Plains with two wins, including Sunday's 79-72 win over Mesa CC in the consolation championship of the Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout.
The Golden Eagles shot close to 60 percent from the field for the game, led by
Mike Hood. The sophomore scored 28 points to lead all scorers. He added three assists, two rebounds and two steals. For the second straight game,
Deng Dut was very consistent. The freshman guard finished with 19 points, nine assists, three rebounds and two steals. He only missed one field goal all game.
The only other Golden Eagle in double figures was
Jackson Ruai with 10 points. He also led the team in rebounding with four.
CSI, now 11-7 overall, returns home to open Scenic West Athletic Conference play, hosting USU Eastern Saturday, Jan. 4 at 3 p.m.
