SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team showed resilience taking down #16 Salt Lake CC 24-26, 32-30, 25-22, 25-21 Saturday in the Golden Eagles final regular season match of the year.
CSI trailed big early in sets one and two but fought back, taking both past regulation and winning set two 32-30. The Golden Eagles had a huge match from middles
Alexis Mareko and
Letarona Mose. Mareko finished with 11 kills and 11 blocks, while Mose added 14 kills and three blocks.
Payton Spoja added 17 kills and 14 digs.Â
Setters
Sean Garvin and
Grace Nelson combined for 57 assists and 18 digs.
Defensively, Golden Eagle libero reached the career 1,000 dig mark with a 32-dig performance.Â
Right-side
Hannah Karrasch also had a solid day, finishing with 10 kills, six digs and five blocks.
With the win, CSI will take the third-seed into next week's Region 18 Tournament and will open with College of Southern Nevada Friday.
