NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The third-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team beat 19th-ranked Wallace State 25-12, 25-10, 22-25, 25-15 and Monroe College 25-20, 25-23, 25-14 Saturday in the Monroe College Tournament to improve to 14-1 on the season.
With the exception of the third set, the Golden Eagles dominated Wallace State.
Airi Miyabe led CSI offensively, putting down 16 kills and adding three service aces and seven digs.
Kylie Gibson and
Jovana Vukcevic each tallied 11 kills. In the middle
E'laisah Young posted eight kills and four blocks.
Sean Garvin finished the match with 52 assists. Defensively,
Kylie Baumert led the Eagles with 15 digs, while
Makayla Bradford added 10 and
Sacha Legros had nine.
In the match against Monroe, Miyabe again shined. The outside had 16 kills along with 14 digs. Young was solid in the middle with eight kills and three blocks. Gibson and Vukcevic combined for 14 kills. Garvin finished the match with 36 assists and two blocks. Bradford posted the most digs with 15 and Baumert added 13.
The Golden Eagles open Scenic West Athletic Conference play next week on the road against Colorado Northwestern and USU Eastern.
