Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Sophomore
Mason Foltz pitched a gem in leading the Golden Eagle Baseball team past Iowa Western 4-2 Monday at the NJCAA National Tournament.
Foltz went 8.1 innings, giving up just two earned run on six hits with 11 strikeouts to get the win.
Jaden Jensen came in to the game with the bases loaded and one out. After giving up an RBI walk, he got the second out of the inning on a sacrifice fly. He then ended the game on a line drive out to short to earn the save.
Offensively, the Golden Eagle had only one player finish with more than one hit.
Hayden Leatham was 2-for-4.
Brett Resch had the lone extra-base hit, getting an RBI double.
David Hudleson finished 1-for-3 with an RBI. The other two CSI runs were scored on bases loaded walks.
CSI, now 52-10 overall, will take on the winner of San Jacinto and Walters State Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Those two teams will play Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. to decide who will take on the Golden Eagles.
