SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The 10th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Baseball team fell to Salt Lake 6-5 and 11-4 Friday on the road in a Scenic West Athletic Conference series.
Trailing 6-2 going into the seventh of game one, the Golden Eagles rallied.
Shawn Grandmont hit a double followed by singles by
Travis Bohall and
David Hudleson but three runs was all CSI could plate coming up one run short.Â
Hudleson finished the game 2-for-4 with one RBI. Grandmont was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Colton Westfall earned the loss, going four innings and giving up four earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
Salt Lake jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning of game two and CSI never recovered.
Brett Resch was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple and two RBI.
Jordan Sadovia was 1-for-3.
Boden Mills earned the loss on the mound.
Trent Bixby pitched well in relief, going 5.2 innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles drop to 30-8 overall and 14-6 in conference play. CSI hosts USU Club Friday and Saturday.
