TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho completed the weekend sweep of USU Eastern Saturday, beating the Eagles 7-5 and 4-2 to extend its Scenic West Athletic Conference lead to four games with four games remaining.
The Golden Eagles cruised early against USU Eastern taking a 7-1 lead into the top of the 7th of game one. But after a rally that produced three runs for USUE,
Jaden Jensen came in to stop the bleeding. Udy crossed the plate on a passed ball to pull within 7-5 but Jensen got Lundell to strike out to end the game and earn the save.
Trent Bixby earned the win, going six innings and giving up three earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts.
At the plate
Travis Bohall was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Hayden Leatham was 1-2 with a walk, a hit by pitch and a single.
In game two both teams were tied at one apiece going into the fourth. After holding USU Eastern to no runs, the Golden Eagles scored two runs when Leatham was hit by pitch with one out.
Nolan Walker singled and
Shawn Grandmont doubled to left field to score Leatham. Walker scored a couple plays later on an error by the catcher.
USUEÂ scored in the top of the fifth but the Golden Eagles added an insurance run in the bottom half that they wouldn't need.
Jensen earned the win on the mound, going 6.2 innings and giving up two earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts.

Offensively, Walker was 2-for-4. Grandmont and
Hayden Foltz hit doubles and Leatham had a triple.
CSI, now 42-8 overall and 22-6 in conference play, travels to third-place Southern Nevada Friday and Saturday to finish out regular season play.
