TWIN FALLS, Idaho - Behind the pitching of the eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball team, the Golden Eagles run ruled Colorado Northwestern CC 22-2 and 12-0 Friday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader.
Stefani Zimmerman earned the game one win, throwing four innings and giving up no runs on two hits with six strikeouts. Teammate
Kamryn Grover match Zimmerman and shined even brighter. The freshman got the game two win, throwing a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the five innings.
At the plate in game one,
Hannah Peterson was 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Melanie Groenewegen and
Siearrah Anderson were each 3-for-3.
Hailey Hicks hit two home runs for the Golden Eagles with five RBI. Anderson also hit a home run and finished with six RBI.
In game two,
Tristin Evans and Grover were 3-for-3. Grover hit three doubles with three RBI to go with her no-hitter in the circle. Groenewegen was 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI.
Anjalee Batchelor was 1-for-2 with a double and four RBI.
CSI, 38-8 overall and 26-4 in conference play, hosts CNCCÂ again Saturday at noon.
