ONTARIO, Ore. - The eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball team beat non-conference opponent Treasure Valley CC 12-0 and 10-8 Tuesday on the road.
The Golden Eagles rolled in the opener behind home runs from
Melanie Groenewegen,
Anjalee Batchelor and
Sherry Boone. Groenewegen ended the game 2-for-3 with two RBI and Batchelor was 3-for-4.
In the circle,
Kamryn Grover earned the win, giving up no runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles struggled to get anything going in game two, trailing 6-4 heading into the fifth inning. But a grand slam by
Hadyn Flygare gave CSI the lead for good. Flygare ended up 2-for-3 with two walks, while
Kassidie Brooks was 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBI.Â
Audrey Hegi got the win, going five innings and giving up one earned run on six hits with one strikeouts.
Hadlie Henderson earned the save.
CSI, now 36-8 overall, hosts Colorado Northwestern CC Friday and Saturday.
