CSI Softball takes two on Friday against Snow

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball team took care of business Friday, beating Snow College 10-2 and 8-5 in the first day of the weekend series.
The Golden Eagles pounded out 26 hits and four home runs on the day.
In game one, Melanie Groenewegen was 3-for-3 at plate and Kassidie Brooks was 2-for-2 with a two doubles. Anjalee Batchelor finished 2-for-3 with a double and two rbi.
Hailey Hicks hit a two rbi home run in the bottom of the fifth to secure the run rule.
Stefani Zimmerman earned the win in the circle, going five innings and giving up two earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles finished game two with more hits and home runs than game one but left eight runners stranded, keeping their run production down.
Groenewegen was solid again at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and a home run. Siearrah Anderson was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Kamryn Grover earned the win in the circle and helped her cause at the plate by hitting a home run. The freshman went six innings in the circle, giving up five runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
CSI, now 34-8 overall and 23-4 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play, hosts Snow again Saturday at noon for a doubleheader.
