CSI Softball splits with Snow in high scoring games

EPHRAIM, Utah - The 10th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball team knocked out 28 hits in its doubleheader with Snow College Friday, but managed just a split, losing game one 12-9 before run-ruling the Badgers 15-2.
The Golden Eagles spotted Snow eight runs in bottom of the first inning of game one. It looked like they might be able to complete a comeback, pulling within 9-8 in the top of the fourth. But the Eagles gave up three in the bottom half and never recovered.
Of the 12 runs Snow scored, only five were earned as CSI committed five errors.
Nicole Renner continued to stay hot at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI and a home run. Mikelle Magalogo was 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Melanie Groenewegen was 3-for-4 with one RBI and a double.
Game two was all CSI.
Stefani Zimmerman pitched a gem, giving up just one earned run on five hits.
Offensively, Tristin Evans was 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBI and Hannah Peterson finished 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBI. Anjalee Batchelor was 2-for-3 and Renner and Courtney Argyle were each 2-for-4.
CSI, now 13-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play, takes on Snow again Saturday at noon for a doubleheader.
