TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 18th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Baseball team beat Prairie Baseball Academy 2-1 and 4-2 Friday in non-conference action.
The Golden Eagles benefited from an outstanding performance on the mound by
Dylan Steen in game one. The sophomore threw a complete game, giving up just one earned run on five hits, no walks and eight strikeouts.
He received offensive support from
Nolan Walker, who was 2-for-4 with an rbi double.
Colin Gordon added a triple and a walk, scoring twice.
In game two, CSI jumped out to a 3-0 lead through three innings before Prairie answered with two in the fifth. The Golden Eagles scored their final run in the seventh when
Cannon Secrist led off the inning with a pinch-hit single.
Travis Bohall advanced him on a sacrifice bunt. Secrist moved to third on a bunch single by
David Hudleson.
Colin Gordon knocked him Secrist on on a sacrifice fly to center field.
Mason Foltz earned the win in the circle, going 5.1 innings and giving up two earned runs on seven hits and seven strikeouts.
Jaden Jensen came in to earn the save. He went three innings, giving up no runs on two hits with five strikeouts.
At the plate Gordon finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and Hudleson was 3-for-3.
CSI, now 14-4 overall, host Prairie for another doubleheader Saturday at noon.
