HENDERSON, Nev. - College of Southern Idaho sophomore
Stefani Zimmerman pitched a perfect game Saturday to lead the Golden Eagles Softball team to an 8-0 victory in game two. CSI also picked up the game one win 14-2 to make it a weekend sweep in Scenic West Athletic Conference action.
After a sluggish first day against the Coyotes, the Golden Eagles pounded out 25 hits and were a lot sharper in the circle.
Zimmerman had four strikeouts in her perfect game.
At the plate in that game,
Anjalee Batchelor and
Tristin Evans each hit home runs. Batchelor was 2-3 with three RBI, while Evans was 1-2 with 2 RBI and a walk.
Hailey Hicks finished with a double, going 2-for-3.
In the first game, CSI benefitted from three home runs -
Nicole Renner,
Mikelle Magalogo and Evans.
Renner was 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBI, while Evans was 2-for-3 with 3 RBI.
Hannah Peterson belted two doubles, going 2-for-3.
Audrey Hegi earned the win in the circle, going all six innings and giving up two earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts.
The 10th-ranked Golden Eagles host 7th-ranked Salt Lake Friday and Saturday. With this weekend's wins, CSI improves to 27-7 overall and 17-3 in conference play.
