TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 11th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball team used the long ball to defeat USU Eastern 14-3 and 8-0 Friday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Golden EaglesÂ
Tristin Evans and
Hailey Hicks each hit three home runs on the day.
Nicole Renner added two and
Mikelle Magalogo added one.
In game one, CSI pounded out 17 hits and then added 12 more in game two.
Hannah Peterson was 4-for-4 in game one and
Melanie Groenewegen was 3-for-4 with four RBI.
Groenewegen, Evans and Hicks all went 2-for-3 in game two.
Stefani Zimmerman earned the win in game one. She gave up one earned run on eight hits with two strikeouts.
The game two winner was
Kamryn Grover. She held USU Eastern scoreless on three hits with three strikeouts.
CSI, now 21-7 overall and 11-3 in conference play, will hosts USU Eastern Saturday at noon and 2 p.m.
