YUMA, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho Softball team run ruled South Mountain 8-2 and Glendale 14-4 Saturday to finish the Arizona Western Shootout 4-3 and move to 8-4 overall. With the victory against Glendale, CSI Head Coach
Nick Baumert notched his 500th career win.
Baumert, who started the program 11 seasons ago, now holds a 500-212-2 record overall.
Against South Mountain,
Stefani Zimmerman earned the win in the circle. She gave up three hits, all in the first inning and then dominated the rest of the way.Â
At the plate,
Nicole Renner hit her fourth home run of the season, going 2-for-3.
Courtney Argyle was 3-for-3 with a double and
Melanie Groenewegen was 2-for-2.
The Golden Eagles stayed hot in game two with every hitter scoring in the first inning. The inning was highlighted by a three-run home run by Groenewegen. She finished the game 1-for-2.
Kassidie Brooks was 2-for-3 and
Hailey Hicks was 2-for-4 with a double.
Kamryn Grover earned the win in the circle, going 4 innings and giving up just four hits with eight strikeouts.
Hadlie Henderson came in to finish the game, allowing no hits with one strikeout.
CSI returns to action Feb. 23-25th at home.
