TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Softball team came away with a couple of run-rule victories over Treasure Valley 11-2 and 20-2 Friday in the Golden Eagles home opener.
The two teams were tied at one apiece heading into the fourth inning of game one before CSI broke the game open with seven runs in the fourth.
Hailey Hicks,
Melanie Groenewegen and
Stefani Zimmerman all hit home runs in the game. Hicks finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Zimmerman and
Courtney Argyle were each 2-for-3. Groenewegen was 1-for-2Â with three RBI.
Kamryn Grover earned the win in the circle. The freshman gave up four hits and one earned run with eight strikeouts in her five innings of work.
Zimmerman posted similar stats in the circle in game two. The sophomore hurler gave up two hits with one earned run and four strikeouts in five innings.
Kassidie Brooks was 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI.
Tristin Evans was 2-for-3 with four RBIÂ and a home run.
Sherry Boone was 1-for-3 with three RBI and a home run. Both Groenewegen and
Hadyn Flygare finished 2-for-3 at the plate.
The Golden Eagles, now 10-4 overall, host Treasure Valley for another doubleheader Saturday at noon.
