TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 13th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team beat Williston State 100-89 Friday in the opening night of the Idaho Central Credit Union Invitational.
The Golden Eagles were out-shot 57 percent to 43 percent from the field but forced 24 turnovers and out-rebounded the Tetons 53-33 to pull out the win.
CSI scored 20 points in second chance opportunities compared to two points for Williston State. For the game, the Golden Eagles got off 91 shot attempts, while the Tetons shot the ball only 61 times.
Leading the way offensively for CSI was
Roberto Gittens with 21 points. He added eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Malik Porter was one rebound short of a double-double, finishing with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Jaxon Edelmayer added 11 points, five rebounds and four assists and
Coreyoun Rushin had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.Â
In his first game this season after overcoming a foot injury,
Khalid Thomas scored five points and pulled down two rebounds.
CSI, now 14-3 overall, will look to avenge an early season loss on Saturday when they take on 15th-ranked Indian Hills.Â
Earlier Friday, Indian Hills beat USU Eastern 100-82.
