RIVERTON, Wyo. - The third-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team lost to 14th-ranked Western Nebraska CC 105-102 Friday at the Central Wyoming Tournament.
The Golden Eagles led the game 64-58 at the half but Western Nebraska took advantage at the free-throw line in the second half to get the win.
CSI was 1-for-2 at the line in the second half, while the Cougars were 15-of-22.
Leading the way offensively for the Golden Eagles was
Roberto Gittens. The sophomore finished with 31 points and eight rebounds. Gittens was on fire from beyond the arc, hitting 8-of-13 from the 3-point line. Teammates
Jaxon Edelmayer and
Malik Porter added 18 and 15 points respectively.
Porter also had nine rebounds. Sophomore
Coleman Sparling also put together a solid game, posting nine points, eight rebounds and six assists.
CSI, now 0-1, takes on Central Wyoming at 3 p.m. Saturday.
