HENDERSON, Nev. - The eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball rolled to straight-set wins over Yavapai and Laramie County Friday. The Golden Eagles best Yavapai 25-15, 25-18, 25-16 and then followed that victory up with a 25-20, 25-14, 25-18 win over Laramie County in the Las Vegas Volleyball Tournament.
Freshman Jovana Vukcevic made her presence known immediately, leading CSI in kills in the both matches. The right side hitter finished with 12 kills and just two errors in the first match and 10 kills and two errors in the second match. She added three blocks, two digs and one ace on the day.
Shiloh Peleras had a solid day at the net, posting 10 blocks.
Outside hitters Airi Miyabe and Jojo Kruize were solid all day. Kruize had 16 kills and 18 digs, while Miyabe added 17 kills and 19 digs.
Morgan Weatherwax led the team in assists with 25 against Yavapai and 23 against Laramie County.
The Golden Eagles play 13th ranked Arizona Western at 10 a.m. MST Saturday and finish up the tournament with Chandler-Gilbert at 2 p.m. MST.
