HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Softball team pounded 64 hits in a four game weekend series, run ruling the College of Southern Nevada twice - 13-5 and 11-3 - and falling to the Coyotes twice - 9-1 and 14-10 to finish the regular season 39-17 overall and 29-11 in conference play.
The Golden Eagles will be the two seed next week when they open the Region 18 Tournament Wednesday against the winner of third-seeded Southern Nevada and sixth-seeded USU Eastern at  5 p.m.
Several CSI players had an overall solid weekend at the plate.
Katie Basinger led the way, going 6-for-9 at the plate with four walks, two doubles, a home run, four RBI and two hit by pitch.
Courtney Argyle was 5-for-9 with a double and five RBI, while
Skylar Cook finished 7-for-15 with two walks, six runs scored, three RBI and three stolen bases.
Erin Emanuel continued to hit well. The sophomore finished 6-for-14 with a double, triple, home run and six RBI.
Samantha Riesen earned both wins in the circle, striking out six hitters in 11 innings pitched.
