RANGELY, Colo. - The College of Southern Idaho Softball team struggled to get anything going Saturday in game one, losing 5-0 before getting hot and dominating Colorado Northwestern 13-2 in a run rule.
The Golden Eagles managed just one hit in the opener, while the Spartans finished with six hits including two home runs.
Melanie Groenewegen posted the only hit in the game for CSI.
Game two had a completely different feel as the Golden Eagles jumped on the board with two quick runs. CSI gave up one unearned run in the bottom of the first but then pulled away.

Erin Emanuel and
Haylee Eskelson and a solo home run by
Shelby McKinnon.
Groenewegen was 3-for-4, while Emanuel, Eskelson and McKinnon each had singles to go with their home runs.
Stefani Zimmerman gave up just one earned run and four hits in the win.
CSI returns home to host Treasure Valley Tuesday at 2 p.m. in a non-conference doubleheader and USU Eastern Friday and Saturday in SWAC play.
