SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - One day after sweeping the Salt Lake CC Baseball team, the College of Southern Idaho fell to the host team 8-7 and 9-2 to even the series a two games apiece.
The Golden Eagles looked poised to win the opener on Saturday, taking a 7-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth in a seven-inning game. But Salt Lake answered with four in the bottom of six and four in the bottom of the seventh to come back and take the win.
Blake Sanchez was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBI for the Eagles.
Daniel Nist was 2-for-4 with a home run.
Game two was all Salt Lake. The Bruins jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.Â
Brett Resch was 1-3 and Nist was 1-4 with one RBI.
CSI, now 8-9 overall and 2-2 in SWAC play, host University of Fraser Valley Wednesday and Thursday in non-conference action.
