TWIN FALLS - The 14th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball team was able to put pressure on sixth-ranked Salt Lake for two games, outhitting the Bruins 17-12 but the Golden Eagles didn't get the timely hits they needed. CSI lost game one 5-2 and game two 6-4 Saturday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader.
The Golden Eagles stranded 17 runners on the day. CSI led both games early but the long ball by Salt Lake proved costly. Alex Valencia and Madison Sisco homered in each game for their only four hits on the day, putting together 7 RBI between them.Â
Erin Emanuel was solid for the Golden Eagles, going 5-8, while
Melanie Groenewegen was 3-for-8 with three RBI and a home run.
Mikelle Magalogo was 2-for-3 in game two with two RBI.
CSI, now 9-9 overall and 1-3 in league play, host Snow College Friday and Saturday.
