HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball team fell to league-leading Southern Nevada 8-4 and 3-2 Friday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference matchup.
The Golden Eagles led 2-1 going into the bottom of the ninth in game two. But a leadoff triple followed by a fielder's choice, a sac bunt and a single plated the winning run for the Coyotes.
Travis Bohall and
Jordan Freese each hit doubles in the game and
Justin Mannens finished the game 1-for-3.
Ryan Beard pitched 5.2 innings and gave up just two hits with three strikeouts and no earned runs.
Tyler Rosas came in to earn the loss, pitching 2.2 innings, giving up five hits and three earned runs.
In the opening game, CSI jumped on the board first, scoring four runs in the top of the first. But CSN answered with six in the bottom half of the inning and added runs in the second and third innings for the final margin.
Trevor Lippard finished the game 2-for-2
Alec West-Guillen earned the loss on the mound.
CSI, now 14-14 overall and 7-7 in league play, takes on Southern Nevada Saturday in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. MST.
