RANGELY, Colo. - What a difference a day makes. The CSI Baseball team bounced back from two losses Friday to Colorado Northwest to beat the Spartans 4-1 and 7-3 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference action.
Golden Eagle starting pitcher
Colton Westfall earned the win in game one, giving up eight hits and one run with seven strikeouts.
Tyler Rosas came in to close out the game and earn the save. The sophomore finished his three innings and pitched almost flawlessly. He gave up no hits with seven strikeouts and had one walk.
At the plate
Jordan Freese led the Eagles, going 2-for-4.
Kelton Christensen was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
In game two, CSI took the 7-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth. The Spartans scored two in the bottom but that would be as close as they would get.
Starter
Jordan Ragan earned the win, going six innings and giving up just three hits and one earned run with five strikeouts.Â
Trevor Lippard,
Blake Sanchez and
Jordan Freese each posted two hits apiece, while Lippard and Freese also had an RBI.Â
CSI, now 11-11 overall and 4-4 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play, host USU Eastern Friday and Saturday.
