Box Score 2 LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho swept a doubleheader Thursday, beating Northeastern 6-1 and 8-5 in non conference action.
The Golden Eagles pitchers dominated the first game, giving up no earned runs.
Alec West-Guillen started the game on the mound for CSI, going 5.67 innings. He gave up eight hits with three strikeouts.Â
Tyler Rosas finished the game, going 3.33 innings. The sophomore gave up no runs on no hits with three strikeouts.
Offensively, Â
Blake Sanchez led CSI, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run and double.
Brett Resch was 1-for-2 with two walks.
In game two,
Jordan Freese hit two home runs to lead the CSI offensive attack. He finished 2-for-5 with three RBI.
Daniel Nist also swung it, going 2-for-4 with a home run.
On the mound,
Colton Westfall earned the win for the Golden Eagles. He pitched 7.33 innings, giving up just six hits with eight strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles, now 5-5, take on Northeastern Friday at 2 p.m. MST and Prairie Baseball Academy Saturday and Sunday. Game times are dependent on weather.
