SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team met its match Saturday in the Salt Lake Invitational, falling to fourth-ranked New Mexico 78-44.
The Golden Eagles struggled to get shots to fall, shooting just 27 percent from the field, seven percent from beyond the arc and 25 percent from the free-throw line. New Mexico did not, hitting 51 percent of its shots from the field.
Tiena Afu had a solid day for CSI, scoring 12 points and pulling down 13 rebounds along with a team-leading four assists.
Katie Hughes added nine points and three rebounds.
CSI, now 11-2 overall, hosts Western Wyoming Saturday in the Hilex Poly Invitational at 5:30 p.m.
