SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Head Coach
Randy Rogers coached the 15th-ranked Golden Eagle women to an 87-36 win over Air Force Prep Friday in the Salt Lake Invitational and hit the 400-win mark with the victory.
Rogers entered his 16th season as the CSI Head Coach this fall, and has posted an overall record of 400 wins and 137 losses to this point.
A win seemed eminent early in the game on Friday as CSI took the 21-11 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 46-21 at the half.
The Golden Eagles again let the deep shots fly, hitting 43 percent of their 3-point shots and finishing with 13 overall.
Nicole Heyn Suarez led the way, knocking down 5-of-5 and scoring a team-high 15 points for the game. She added three steals and five rebounds. Gabriela Bruno added 12 points, scoring all of her points from beyond the arc as well. Ka'maree Donald had a solid overall game at the point guard position, finishing with 10 points, five assists, three rebounds and three assists.
CSI, now 10-1 overall, will have a tough test Friday as the Golden Eagles take on fourth-ranked New Mexico JC which is undefeated heading into this tournament at 13-0.
