LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team dug itself into a hole it couldn't get out of, falling to the Southern All Stars 66-65 Thursday in the CSI Holiday Basketball Classic.
The Golden Eagles fell behind 19-8 in the first quarter and never recovered. CSI shot just 31 percent from the field and 20 percent from long distance. On the flip side the Southern All Stars shot 47 percent and out-rebounded the Golden Eagles 48-46.
Jamie Nielson led CSI with 16 points.
Tiena Afu had a solid game with eight points and 14 rebounds.
Meghan Hughes added 12 points and six rebounds, while
Kaela McClure had nine points, seven assists and five steals.
CSI, 14-3 overall, plays Lake Region Friday at 6:30 p.m. MST to conclude the tournament.
