TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team took its first lead with 17:52 to go in the second half and never trailed again, beating Laramie County 107-96 Saturday in the Hilex Poly Invitational.
Roche Grootfaam scored and made the and-one to put CSI up 58-56. From there the Golden Eagles built the lead to 19 points with eight minutes to go in the game. But Laramie County battled back, cutting the CSI lead to eight. That was as close as they would get.
Charles Jones Jr. led the Golden Eagles with 27 points.
Danya Kingsby added 18 points, 10 assists and six rebounds.
Khalid Thomas also was solid offensively, finishing with 20 points along with six rebounds.
CSI, now 13-1, travels to Treasure Valley Tuesday for a non-conference matchup.
