Box Score EPHRAIM, Utah - The fifth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball defeated Snow College 26-24, 25-18, 25-23 Saturday to win the Region 18 Championship and advance to the NJCAA National Tournament Nov. 16th-18th in Hutchinson, Kansas.
CSI trailed much of the third set, making it look like there might be a repeat of the teams first two meetings where both matches went the 5-set distance. But the Golden Eagles climbed back into the set and took a 24-23 lead on a Makayla Bradford ace and the win on a Shilo Peleras kill.
Airi Miyabe again had a solid match, leading the Eagles with 16 kills and seven digs. Peleras added 11 kills and four blocks. Both of those two were rewarded for their play in the tournament, Miyabe being named Region 18 Tournament MVP and Peleras making the all-tournament team.
The third CSI player to make the all-tournament team was setter Morgan Weatherwax. The sophomore finished the match with 26 assists and six digs.
Jojo Kruize led the Golden Eagles defensively with 11 digs.
CSI improves to 28-3 overall with the win.
