TWIN FALLS, Idaho - In their first home game of the season, the Golden Eagles did not disappoint, running past Tohono O'odham 117-29 in the Idaho Central Credit Union Invitational Friday.
Every CSI player scored in the Golden Eagles dominating performance. CSI racked up 28 assists and committed just 10 turnovers, while forcing 38.
Meghan Hughes and Tiena Afu each posted double-doubles. Hughes had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Afu added 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Other Golden Eagle players scoring in double digits included Jamie Nielson with 18 and Mallory Lapoole with 12. Ka'maree Donald distributed the ball well for CSI, finishing with eight assists to go with five points and two steals.
CSI shot 58 percent from the field, while holding Tohono O'odham to 18 percent.
The Golden Eagles take on Arizona Western Saturday at 5:30 p.m. In the early game Arizona Western beat Northwest College 58-55.
