TWIN FALLS, Idaho - On a day when Snow College could do little wrong, the College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball posted one of its worst offensive nights of the season. The combination proved fatal as the Golden Eagles fell to the Badgers 105-81 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
A two-point game at the half, it appeared the matchup would be close to the end.
But turnovers, missed layup and fouls plagued the Golden Eagles and ultimately spelled their demise.
CSI knocked down just 28 percent of its 3-point attempts and only 61 percent from the free throw line. Snow, on the other hand, shot 52 percent from the field and 73 percent from the line, making 27 free throws compared to 11 for CSI.
The Golden Eagles out-rebounded Snow by two. But committed 25 turnovers to the Badgers 19.
And CSI had no answer for Snow's Zach Hunsaker. The freshman guard finished the game with 37 points and seven rebounds. He was an impressive 15-of-17 from the free throw line and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc.
The Golden Eagles had only two players in double-digit scoring led by
Casdon Jardine's 14.
Charles Jones Jr. added 12. Both had six rebounds apiece.
CSI, now 14-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play, hosts USU Eastern Thursday at 7:30 p.m.Â
