TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team trailed the entire game, struggling to knock down shots early in losing to Salt Lake CC 68-49 Tuesday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles shot just 20 percent from the field in the first half, making only seven shots. The only bright spot was
Jane Nelson off the bench. The freshman guard scored 11 points in the first half on 5-of-10 shooting.
She ended the game with a team-high 15 points. She added four rebounds and four assists.
The Golden Eagles rallied in the second half and cut the Bruin lead to 10 in the third quarter. But that would be as close as CSI would get.
CSI forced more turnovers (16) than it committed (12) but the Golden Eagles were out-rebounded 45-33.
Ariel Augustine scored 12 point with five rebounds, while
Tiena Afu added 11 points and seven rebounds.Â
CSI, now 13-8 overall and 4-3 in league play, travel to USU eastern Saturday.
