RANGELY, Colo. - After losing a tough one on the road Thursday to Snow College, the College of Southern Idaho bounced back to dominate Colorado Northwestern 84-53 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Spartans jumped out to an eight-point lead two minutes into the game, but CSI overcame its slow start and finished the first quarter up 26-12 and never looked back.
CSI dominated on the boards, out-rebounding the Spartans 41-26. The Golden Eagles also forced 28 turnovers and committed just 14.
Offensively,
Tiena Afu led CSI with 15 points. She added nine rebounds.
Brianna Osorio posted a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. She also had four steals and two assists.
Jamie Nielson was the only other Eagle in double-figure scoring, knocking down five-of-six from the field for 12 points.
The Golden Eagles, now 13-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play, host Salt Lake CC Tuesday.
