SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The 24th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team knew it would have its hands full with eighth-ranked Salt Lake CC Saturday on the road, but had the Golden Eagles started the game better they would have been in a dogfight down the stretch. CSI lost to Salt Lake 67-55, dropping into second place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference race behind the Bruins.
The Golden Eagles started slow, trailing 20-10 after one quarter, and never recovered.
One bright spot for CSI was
Ariel Augustine. the sophomore ended the game with 17 points and six rebounds.
Tiena Afu and
Brianna Osorio were the only other players to score more than 10 points. Each had 11. Afu added four rebounds, while Osorio finished with two rebounds, two assists and three steals.
CSI, now 12-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play, travel to Snow College Thursday and Colorado Northwestern Saturday.
