TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho knocked out six home runs in a two-game sweep of Western Nevada Saturday, beating the Wildcats 10-5 and 12-3.
Erin Emanuel hit a grand slam in the opener and a solo shot in game two, while
Cassidy Basinger hit a 2-run shot in game one and a grand slam in game two.
Taylor Tahbo and
Jaici Bishop each added solo shots.
The Golden Eagle pitchers kept Western Nevada off balance most of the day.
Kelsey Christensen gave up four earned runs with six strikeouts in game one, while
Samantha Riesen threw a gem in game two, giving up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts.
Madi Ford shined in the leadoff spot all day. The lefty freshman went 3-for-4 in game one and 3-for-3 in game two.
Skylar Cook also had a solid day, finishing 4-for-7.
The Golden Eagles improve to 13-6 overall and 4-0 in league play. CSI travels to Colorado Northwestern next weekend.
